Frankfurt/Main, 25 October 2013: EuroMold as the world’s leading trade fair has been presenting innovations in tool and mould construction, design and product development for 20 years. In 2013, the International Wohlers Conference is celebrating its anniversary and is represented at the trade fair for the 15th time. The top-class event this year is examining the topic of investing in the field of 3D printing technology. Under the title „Business and Investment Opportunities in Additive Manufacturing and 3D Printing“, the conference is being held on Thursday, 5 December 2013 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at Portalhaus, room Frequenz 2, hall 11, Messe Frankfurt//Main exhibition site.

Terry Wohlers as a business consultant, analyst and author has been the leading expert in his field for many years. He is the founder and president of Wohlers Associates, Inc., an independent consulting firm that offers technical and strategic consulting in regards to new developments and trends in the field of 3D printing. The Wohlers Report which appears annually discusses and analyses the current state of 3D printing technology around the world.

Concrete product examples and deeper insights into select markets such as China and the USA will be part of the conference. Visitors will also get a detailed look at developments and trends for 3D printing technology in the medical-technical field. The topic of intellectual property in relation to investing in these novel technologies will be discussed as well. Research and publicly funded investments round out the programme and illustrate that the investment needs and economic potential have long since been recognised by governments too.

Dr.-Ing. Eberhard Döring, CEO of EuroMold: „3D printing technology is currently in a transition phase from a technology used to fabricate prototypes to a technology for manufacturing end products. Our industry is experiencing this unusual and exciting change in concrete terms. Even now, it can be said that the potential and future influence of the method on the entire process chain is going to be tremendous. In the meantime, the countless possibilities are not only recognised in technical and scientific circles. More and more larger companies and brands are in fact investing in this technology. The International Wohlers Conference will once again offer exciting insights, new knowledge and intensive networking for participants this year.“

Nine speakers from China, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, Belgium and the USA are going to share their vision of new markets, companies, products and services. The expert speakers have decades of experience in various areas of research, development, industry and investment. This ensures that the conference is met by lively interest from trade fair visitors every year, covering the full spectrum of the industry.

The announced YOUplikate – the festival of 3D printing in downtown Frankfurt – is not going to take place. Instead the DigiFabb will be held at the exhibition site itself as part of EuroMold. Here visitors will have the opportunity to inform themselves about innovative 3D printing technologies for the consumer at numerous exhibition stands and in the course of presentations.
